The Wind is Back!

It's been a bit of a wait but I've finally used a board with a sail on, rather than with all this paddling around getting cold nonsense!
Got in yesterday (Friday) at Doniford which has a nice point break setup with the tide down a bit (it turns into reef break at high tide).
That meant long ride on waves that were clean, even with sideshore 4.5m weather. Sunny too. Nice.

Sunday looks like a wet and windy NWly. My current thoughts are either Bigbury or Minehead. The wind looks best earlier rather than later. Minehead would have to early with the noon low tide. It's a pretty big tide so I'll just have to see in the morning what the wave conditions are like.

  1. Well, didn't the forecast change hugely over night?
Not wet & really windy, but sunny & not very windy! Muppets.

I gambled on low tide Bigbury to maximize what swell there was. OK at low tide for float and ride on clean, waist high waves. The s/b quad 86 was great for that - easy to catch waves and easy to stay upwind.

Of course as the wind picked up after an hour, the swell began to drop. So changed to my jp twinfin for a small wave demolition derby!
