With the transformation of Waterfront Sports into Liquid Motion Watersports, this Blog is being replaced with a Facebook Page:
I'll shall be putting up my session reports there.
Hopefully it'll make it easier to know what everyone's getting up to, and what beaches are working.
See you there!

Dawlish waves
Quite nice shoulder high waves this Saturday morning.
Wind didn't last long. Started cross-on then went side shore before dropping.
Managed to get in a few nice rides and jumps.

Thursday wind and waves
Super gusty westerly at Exmouth. Half a dozen windsurfers out and a bit too windy for kites. Great!
Just about held down my 4.5 but 4.0 or 3.7 would have been better. Nice waist high waves at low tide. Only got over powered on a couple of rides so pretty happy!
Bit too stacked in the air for anything other than getting hang time and some nice old school tabletops (the only jump I do that's better on starboard tack - have to work on that!)

Exmouth Waves
Tuesday 26th
Went out at dead low tide. Nice, head waves that kept getting better. After a shaky start the wind got better too.
Exmouth seems to generate good, clean waves even when it's onshore. I guess it's when a good sized swell hits the outer sand bars.
However it does it, you get pretty hollow sections to hit. And, of course those sections make great ramps for big jumps!

Quick nip up the M5
Yesterday had a quick trip to Burnham-on-sea, for the northwesterly.
Plenty of wind for my twinfin and a fun little wave wrapping around the island. Did feel a little chilly on the hands and head for the first time this autumn.
Nice jumping ramps as well.
Forecast for the weekend changes everyday. Monday - wind. Tuesday - no wind. Today - yes wind. So who knows. Not the forecasters anyway!

Big ..... Bigbury
Saturday 9th October
Big wave carnage - broken gear and long swims.
I played things pretty safe and managed to avoid any mishaps. Did pick off a few monsters though - no mean feat, it was pretty offshore at the peak and the swells fast moving.
I used my floaty Quad just to be able to catch waves whilst heading up wind.

Fancy Some Waves Today
Since last posting there has been some wind - nothing special but nice to a have a sail or two a week.
Mostly Exmouth and Minehead. Fun jumping at Minehead.
Need some wave riding though, so off to Westward Ho this afternoon - hopefully will be nice.
Cheers,
Giles
